| Marbie & Daniel... |
Even her groom Daniel was just as equally nice as she was. All I had to do was find them the right venue, book the best suppliers I could find and manage every last detail which Ann and I were more than happy to oblige. Venue-scouting & food tasting sessions was what we enjoyed the most...
to me, it seemed I was getting married all over again as I got to enjoy her wedding preparations to the fullest.
SEPTEMBER 18.
It had been raining terribly all week so the chance of no rain seemed hopeless. But instead of dampening the spirits of our lovebirds, they didn't seem to care as they knew they were only hours away from taking the next important step in their lives.
Marbie was the usual jolly bride, the ever-relaxed one who was so laid-back, so composed, I didn't feel a hint of nervousness in her. She still managed to go out with her best girl friends the night before. Though I knew she was somehow nervous deep inside, the vibrant disposition of the bride and her friends turned the room into a very lively place. Her happiness exuded a glow that was hard to miss.

The groom, Daniel, hAd his own preps at Taal Vista Hotel where he and his family stayed the night before. Together with his best buddies Jeremy & Peter, Daniel enjoyed his last few hours of bachelorhood and even took a dip in the pool before heading to the church.

It was past 2:30 in the afternoon when Marbie left the hotel.. Donned in a gorgeous bridal ball-gown, Marbie got inside this beautiful vintage 1932 Studebaker who brought her to church from the Villa..
When we got to Lourdes, I felt my excitement more than doubled as I saw the elegant wedding set up done by florist Martha Manalili. The aisle was adorned with alternating white laces, lamp posts and white flowers from either side, lighted votive candles added a charming finish to it all.
Aann, Lala & Mi-anne were already ushering the entourage & the guests inside when we arrived. People started coming in as the quartet (orchestra) from Maestro Johnny Santos started playing soft melodies while awaiting for the ceremony to start. A few minutes after, Canon in D' played and the processional started.
Daniel looked so dapper in his suit as he walked down the aisle together with his lovely mother, Ms. Kaye Dridan, and his uncle Mr. Kevin Dridan who was as equally beaming as the groom. The church was filled with so much anticipation as each sponsor marched in.
The music momentarily paused as it was time for the bride to enter the church... When the violin started playing, "When God Made You", the wooden church doors opened as the dazzling bride stood outside. And just like that, she took her bridal walk, slowly.. ~ ~ the most meaningful walk she had ever done in her life.. I held back my tears as I watched Marbie sashay into the aisle, with her long trail flowing from behind her back. She smiled and blushed at the same time, her eyes glued to the direction where her parents waited halfway, while the man she loved watched from the altar.. Guests got carried away as they witnessed how teary-eyed the groom was, obviously filled with so much love that seemed immeasurable. A lot of guests were in tears, I observed..

The solemn ceremony then took place, every vow, every word carefully exchanged and felt. This was a joining of two different people from two different worlds. A union that withstood distance, culture and race...
In exchange for rose petals, beautiful butterflies flew & swirled around the couple as they got out of the church...They were cheered upon by friends and family as they shared another romantic kiss...
A bountiful feast followed at Villa De Oro. The ballroom looked elegant with classic centerpieces adorning the tables, matching the exquisite chandeliers which provided warm ample lighting to the place..Votive candles, pictures & flowers were displayed on the receiving table where the guests took their names off our guest-cork board..
A sumptuous array of food awaited the guests, courtesy of Alba Catering.
Our gracious hosts, Jaimie Saquilayan & Howard Castillo started the program. The WV team ushered the entourage inside as they were introduced one by one. Marbie and Daniel danced to Eric Bennet's "The Last Time," afterwhich the rest of the wedding traditions followed. All the guests seemed to enjoy the food and the lively program that took place
afterwards. One of the highlights however was the garter & bouquet toss. The best man, Jeremy Dridan was so EAGER TO PARTICIPATE, he HAPPILY oblige with the mechanics. And yes, he was just as charming as his cousin Dan... Everyone shared in the joy of these young couple as the wonderful night went on...
As we capped the celebration off, I finally felt relieved... I remember mumbling a short prayer of thanks for having done with this wedding almost perfectly. Well, weddings do have minor glitches from time to time but thankfully, everything went well as planned and I must say, it truly had been one of the nicest weddings we've done so far, intimate, simple yet very romantic. My favorite part though was the very beautiful solemn wedding ceremony as it still replays in my head the very way it happened.
A beautiful on-site video of the couple was played in the end by brightside media, capping off the night...
One wedding done for today... Tonight, I can finally get a peaceful slumber, knowing I've done something right.... Exhausted as we all are but definitely, fulfilled and happy.
Congratulations & Best Wishes to our lovely couple, Daniel & Marbie... I'll be missing your preps for sure...
